Linda Boronkay show apartment

Introducing the second apartment in The Designer Collection, by celebrated interior designer and former Design Director of Soho House, Linda Boronkay. Linda has embraced the Art Deco features found throughout The Whiteley’s architecture and interiors as inspiration for curating this beautiful home. Facing west in the development on the fifth floor, the light-filled four-bedroom residence features two expansive outdoor terraces.
“EVERY DETAIL, FROM THE SAGE GREEN SILK WALLPAPER IN THE CORRIDOR TO THE BRIGHT RED LACQUER COFFEE TABLE IN THE LIVING ROOM, HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO CREATE A SENSE OF LUXURY AND COMFORT.”

Linda Boronkay

Linda Boronkay is the founder and creative director of the award-winning Linda Boronkay Design Studio. Based in London, with a satellite office in Sydney, the studio specialises in the creation of private residences around the world, hotels, bars and restaurants. Linda’s goal is always to craft interiors that stimulate and entice, striking a perfect balance between tradition and innovation and fostering a unique architectural dialogue.
With expertise spanning luxury hospitality and residential interior design, as well as furniture and product design, Linda and her team draw inspiration from many sources. Linda’s former role at Soho House has strongly influenced her tastes, while art, cinema, design, architecture, fashion, craftsmanship all contribute to narratives rooted in place, culture and historical context. This holistic approach results in designs that are not just visually stunning but deeply connected to their surroundings.
Linda’s vision for the apartment was to integrate The Whiteley’s grandeur and old-world charm with a sense of eclectic vibrancy. She has created a home that’s both atmospheric and warm, a place where historical elegance meets contemporary creativity. This layered approach is evident as soon as you enter the hallway. Sage-green silk wallpaper brings a touch of classic luxury, while a custom hand-woven runner in a geometric design adds texture and a modern slant. Feature-lighting from bespoke ceiling-lanterns with antique brass frames and silk shades creates an inviting air of intrigue and opulence.
William Whiteley’s dream of creating London’s first luxury department store as an ‘immense symposium of the arts and industries of the nation and of the world’ served as a guiding principle in Linda’s design process. The apartment is filled with ‘wow moments’ that captivate and delight at every turn.
“IN OUR APPROACH TO DESIGN WE WANTED EVERY ELEMENT TO FEEL METICULOUSLY CURATED AND THOUGHTFULLY COLLECTED OVER TIME. CONTEMPORARY PIECES ARE MIXED WITH ICONIC VINTAGE SELECTIONS.”
Linda Boronkay
“THE WHITELEY IS A UNIQUE OFFERING WITH ITS EXISTING ARCHITECTURE AND RICH HISTORY. THIS HISTORIC CHARM IS SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED WITH MODERN LUXURY, CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS BOTH TIMELESS AND CONTEMPORARY.”
